Here are just some of the oral surgeries we offer:

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth extraction is a surgery that is typically recommended to patients in their late teens or early twenties. Not everyone requires this procedure, but most do. If you or your teen need the wisdom teeth extracted, you could be facing potential orthodontic issues and a higher risk for gum disease down the road.

At Westminster Dental Care, we perform all different types of wisdom tooth removal surgeries, including those on impacted wisdom teeth!

Full Mouth Extractions & Surgical Extractions

We provide full mouth extractions for patients who are experiencing pain and discomfort or have an infection caused by a tooth that is damaged beyond repair. In some cases, a surgical extraction may be required, but simple extractions are also performed if the tooth appears above the gum line. Before any extraction, Dr. McKnight will administer a dental exam and take digital x-rays to determine the extent of the damage.

Bone Grafting

Periodontal disease can wreak havoc on the jaw bone, making it impossible to support a dental implant without specialized treatment. If you are suffering from this condition, we may recommend bone grafting (also known as natural bone regeneration) to promote bone growth in the jaw. With this specialized treatment, your jaw bone will begin to regenerate and strengthen itself enough to support a dental implant.

Dental Crown Lengthening

Some patients require dental crown lengthening as part of the preparation for the final crown restoration of a tooth. If necessary, we will perform a crown lengthening to extend the size or height of a portion of your tooth to better stabilize the dental crown.

Biopsies

Oral cancer checks will be part of your regular dental checkups. If Dr. McKnight finds any concerning areas, he will take a surgical biopsy of the tissue and get it tested from there. This process is generally quick - and absolutely necessary

Denture Stabilization Surgery

Do your dentures slip and slide when you speak or eat? Are you experiencing general discomfort when you wear them? We may recommend denture stabilization surgery to secure your existing dentures with dental implants.
